With my boys growing love of race cars and little Hot Wheels cars, I worked on this race car bedroom theme embellishing idea. This turned out to be one of my inexpensive embellishing ideas that came together in only a few hours.

I found various bright red race car posters to hang up. Also I made a mobile of toy cars and displayed a lot of toy cars on shelves and dressers. They had already put together various model cars that were painted with bright colors and we displayed them too. Now my race car bedroom boy embellishing idea was starting to look like a fun room.

I do not forget back then I was using free samples of carpet remnants to make area rugs. I had merely taped the undersides together to make patchwork area rugs in other rooms. For the race car bedroom embellishing idea, I cut some carpet remnants and used them to fabricate a rug that became a blue lake and green grassy areas for their floor.

Some of the orange Matchbox tracks were damaged, naturally. With my race car bedroom boy embellishing idea, I cut and stapled a few pieces of orange tracks together and made a collage on one wall with a background poster of an Indy Car Racing scene. Because it was military housing, I couldn’t paint the walls there.

The boys’ royal blue corduroy bedspreads had faded over time but I threw on a few pillows I made with my bedroom boy embellishing idea in mind. I made square, round and oval shapes with red, orange and yellow felt cutouts of race car shapes and threw them on the beds.

They had gas stations and parking garages made just for Matchbox toy cars. We placed them around the room so they had a little town to play cars right on their bedroom floor. Using the orange Matchbox tracks for roads, we made their race car bedroom embellishing idea come to life.

One problem was that my boys kept taking the cars displayed down to play with them. We also tripped over orange tracks for months, but I think my boys enjoyed that race car bedroom the most.

I wish we had held my children’s Hot Wheels cars and Matchbox playsets. I have only one, the Hot Wheels RacingHart Hot TunerZ Collectible. If I had preserved and saved my boys collection, today they might be worth a little fortune!

Great Rug for the Price

I was really suprised at how nice this area rug is. A lot of people told me not to purchase a rug online because you really don’t know what you are going to get. It looks even better than the picture. The colors are bright and bold, and it is soft to walk on. My order was delivered in 2 business days ! I’m considering ordering the runner to match.

Moderately satisfied

I just received our rug today and I’m moderately satisfied. I disagree with a previous review that said “what you see is what you get”. The picture on-line looks extremely traditional and rich looking. The rug in person appears to be a knock-off and cheaply made. It is soft, but not very cushiony. But for the price I paid, it will work. It gives a cozy appeal on my wood floors in my dining room.

Nice-looking rug but a little thin…

We recently bought a new house and needed a round area rug, so we shopped around a little before deciding on Home Dynamix Royalty Red 5-Feet 2-Inch Round Traditional Area Rug. The rug arrived on time and looked exactly like pictured. The details are good and the colors are rich. We laid it next to our Persian Rug, and it didn’t look like a knockoff. For the price we paid, it was a very good deal.

I took one star off because this rug is very thin, and quite noticible, especially if one doesn’t wear shoes around the house. If you plan to lay it on a hardwood floor, you will notice a big difference between this rug and a high-quality rug. On the other hand, if you have carpeted floors, you may not want a thicker rug.

We ended up buying a Premium-Lock Rug Pad, which not only helped to hold the rug in place, it also added the extra cushion we wanted.
